Low-Cost Therapy in the Bay Area

It is very common to feel like going to see a psychotherapist is too expensive. Isn't your mental/spiritual health and growth important?  I think it is.  So below are affordable resources in the bay area for psychotherapy.  The counseling centers on the list below all work on a sliding scale, meaning you pay what you can afford.  Just to note, there is a range of options, you can see a therapist who is a Jungian Therapist, a Drama Therapist, a Somatic Therapist, a Expressive Arts Therapist, or a Psychodynamic Therapist.  You could see a man or a woman.  What is important is that you choose a therapist that you like.  One study noted that the clients who got the most out of therapy are the clients that liked their therapist.  Therefore, the client-therapist relationship is vital for the therapy to work.  Interview a couple therapists take your time and see who you feel most comfortable working with.  Most of the therapists who you will work with on this list are trainees or interns, that means that they are either currently still completing their Master's degree or have finished it and are working towards licensure.  Therefore each therapist has a supervisor that they take their cases to, so in a way you are getting two therapists for the price of one.
